The Famous GTK Theme Adwaita Cupertino Becomes Gnome Cupertino

Adwaita Cupertino is one of the top Linux themes which can give a Mac like look to your desktop. For a long time, the developer didn't update the theme. But on the 1st of December, it got a major upgrade to the version 2. Actually, its a pre-release version. Still unstable. But does the job perfectly... The new version changes the name to Gnome Cupertino. The previous version didn't work well with the new Ubuntu. But those issues have been fixed and the theme now supports

Nitrux Icons : A Clean, Square Icon set for Linux

There are a lot of cool GTK themes for Linux. We have a really good selection. But when it comes to icons, we don't have too many good-looking icon sets to try. The most popular and the widely used icon theme is Faenza. But recently, we started to see some cool new icons popping up. For example, look at FS Icons Ubuntu. A really gorgeous icon set! Today's new comer Nitrux is also really good-looking... All their icons are square-shaped just like Faenza and have a glossy

Zukiwi : A Brand New, Polished and Elegant Linux Theme from an old Pro

Remember the awesome Zukini and Zukitwo themes? Until now, I used those themes and they are the most beautiful Gnome themes I have used. Now, the same author have released another awesome theme named Zukiwi. This theme is also nice and elegant like the previous ones. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the GTK theme but the Gnome Shell theme is great. If you compare with the previous designs, in the shell overview, the top header with the two tabs and the search box have been

Malys Future : A Clean Minimal GTK Theme

Malys themes are always unique. They do something new with every release. Earlier we talked about Malys – RevolT which have some heavy designs. For me, it's really too much. But their latest release is the total opposite. Malys Future is a completely minimal theme. Clean and clear. Colors are light. But the selections are too light. Normally, themes use a separate darker color for the sidebars. But in here, all are white. Its blended. The menus are really cool and I also

Grey Day : A Smooth, Light GTK Theme Inspired by Adwaita Cupertino

If you think Adwaita Cupertino is too much Applleish, then here's the solution... Gray Day... A more smoother and lighter theme built by the same developer of Adwaita Cupertino. Rather than the slight glass look in Adwaita Cupertino, I like the smoother Gray Day specially when it comes to drop down boxes and buttons. The selections also have a lighter blue mixed gray colors. Smooth and light. I like it. But still it can't beat the Mediterranean Night theme! What do

Malys – RevolT GTK Theme : A Total Revolution

Some people (like me) want clean elegant looks in their desktops. But there are people who love funky designs and really dark colors. Revolt is an ideal design for those kinds of people. I just thought that as bloggers, we can't always write only about things that we like. To be honest, I don't like this theme that much. But in Gnome Look, it have a really good rating. That means, there are people who love these designs. One big advantage of this theme is, it can be good

Mediterranean Night GTK Theme : Not Too Dark… Just the Right Theme!

It's from the same designer who created the Adwaita cupertino theme. According to him, this is a darker version of that theme. But it have a better look than the previous one! According to the author, Mediterranean Night is good for people who work in the computer for very long hours. Dark colors are good for your eyes. But unlike the pitch black themes we find for Linux, this theme have a good balance. If you hate pitch darkness but need something to cool off your eyes.

FS Icons for Ubuntu got Updated with More Icons and a New Look

Last week we introduced you to FS Icons Ubuntu which is a really cool icon set specially designed to match the Ubuntu theme. Earlier, it contained only a limited number of icons. If I'm correct, it had only several folder icons. Now, it have been updated. The new Icon set have a slightly different design and have more icons like app icons, archive icons, drive icons and some more... But still it's not complete! There are some major icons missing like the "Computer" icon.

How To Make the Gnome Shell Panel Transparent in Any Theme

New Gnome themes were made mostly from web technologies like CSS. If you are a web designer, then you can easily change your gnome theme. Recently I installed the Zukitwo Cupertino theme and it looked great. But I thought that I can make it even better if I can make the panel transparent. So, searched the web for help and saw that Gnome themes are of CSS... Piece of cake! All you got to do is edit a .css file in the theme to make it transparent. Not only that, you can do
