Don’t you know that you can measure your stress level, the heart rate and even keep an eye on your sleep with your Android device? No? Well, Azumio Inc have developed some innovative Android apps which might be really useful for your life…
The Stress Check :
If you work for a long time, if you are getting ready to give a speech, if you are getting ready for an exam, your stress level will increase. You’ll try to hide it. But your heart will let out your secret. We can normally measure the stress level of a person using his heart rate. The Stress Check app for Android does the same thing. It use your device’s camera and your finger to observe your heart rate and measure your stress level. The app is well designed… If you are not placing your finger correctly, if it’s shaking, the app won’t measure it. Its intelligent.
It’s not a good idea to take critical decisions when your stress levels are high. It’s also not a good idea to stay in a high stressed stage because it’s not good for your health. It will damage your systems and most of the deceases will come after several months. So, it’s really necessary to avoid high stress and keep a cool head. Use this app and mange your stress! Do some meditations if you really need to calm down!
The Instant Heart Rate :
This app checks your heart rate in the same way. All it need is a camera and your finger. Its better to use a device with a flash light. The app will ask you to place your finger on the camera lens. If your finger is well illuminated, you can detect the small pulse. This app read this data for several seconds and determine the average heart rate. Then it’ll show you whether its normal, lower than usual or higher than usual in a simple graph. Luckily, I got an average heart rate.
The Sleep Time – Alarm Clock :
I think this is the coolest app in this collection. It’s an alarm clock. But not just an ordinary alarm clock. It will carefully keep an eye on your sleep using your device’s accelerometer. It will track your movements and determine which sleep stage you are in. There are several stages of sleep. The most important part is the Deep Sleep (REM). That’s where you’ll really start to relax. A normal adult will spend only about 20% to 25% of their total sleep time for this REM stage. But yesterday I spent 45% of my 7 and a half hour sleep in a deep sleep (I’m still young). Most of the time, it happens at the end of the sleep. If your alarm clock disturb you in this stage, you’ll feel groggy. I know I will. (But the last time when it disturbed me I just switched off the alarm and went back to bed. I never knew what I was doing!). That’s why I hate alarms. But, Sleep Time have a solution for this. If you are in a deep sleep, it will wake you up 30 minutes before the exact time. Then, you can spend that extra 30 minutes to get out of that groggy feeling. I used the app to monitor my sleep last night but didn’t used the alarm because my sleep is so valuable for me! Can’t loose it just to test this alarm! So, you test it and tell me how it feels…
All the three apps are really innovative and very useful if you are concerned about your health and your sleep. The measurements might not be 100% accurate but its enough for a normal person to do some quick checks. But, if you are a heart patient, and have something serious like that, do not rely on these apps. There are specialized gadgets that can perform these tasks at home. Use them instead. But if you are a normal geek who need to tune his sleep and check the stress level to hit his maximum performance while staying healthy, its ok to use these apps!
