Several years ago, if we find something with the tag “Made in China”, we think it’s a cheap fake. We’ve been tricked! But today things have changed… We see more Made in China stuff in our markets… Are they all fakes?

The answer is No! Now, many big companies manufacture their goods in China. They have their own factories or hire hardware contractors like Foxconn. For example, take Apple… Most of the apple gadgets are built in Foxconn factories. Take your iPad or the iPhone and check it… You’ll see the “Made in China” tag in both of them! Intel used Foxconn for years. It’s a very old tie. The biggest reason for this is cheap labor!

Not only that, now Chinese companies have slowly started to conquer the world market. For example take Lenovo… Yesterday we heard that it’s getting close to become the number 1 PC maker in the world and push HP to the second place. Until that day I thought Dell and HP are at the top. But it looks like Dell is below Lenovo. You might think, because its Chinese, the quality might be bad. But from what I heard from my friends, Lenovo laps have better quality and reliability than HP and Dell ones!

Next take Foxconn… They were hired by big players like Apple and Intel to build their stuff… But now Foxconn is learning from them… They are starting to produce their own products. Currently they are not that popular but there are possibilities!

So the truth is, now things are changing… Many of the original tech goods are now built-in China… Next time if you get something with the tag “Made in China”, don’t get disappointed… There’s a 90% chance that its 100% original!

I don’t mind that things are made in China.Having said this, I understand why many people are upset that the Olympic uniforms were made in China. I think that the backlash is a litte over the top.

    I think you’re right friend.
Today many products of Big names are actually made in China. Apple and Intel are good examples.
Today in China, the situation has much changed compare to 30 years ago. Some of their technology are very advance, just take an example: now USA have the most advanced stealth fighter in the world – F-22, and China now have the J-20. Now China is the only country other than USA that have the ability to research simultaneously two different prototypes of stealth fighter in the world, who else?
