A normal phone have a very small screen area. For a person who always work in the PC, this might be a bit uncomfortable. You might also want to control your phone while you are working on the PC. What if we add the phone into another tab of your web browser? Won’t it make things easier?
Some times I have to write some very long text messages to explain things to my friends. With the small phone, it takes a lot of time to do this job. I hate texting like that. Recently I tried Air Droid which can allow you to control some aspects of your phone through your browser. Now, texting long messages is easy! I even sent the first part of a song to Shanaka to test it. But be careful about the fee when sending long messages.
- Simply, install the app from the android market and run it
- It’s very simple, you just have to click start and your phone is ready to be connected
- Next, open the browser and go to the URL given by Air Droid and enter its password to get in
Note : The phone and the PC should be in the same network!
As I said earlier, the app can be used to send and receive text messages easily. You’ll get notifications when you get new messages. It also gives a quick overview of the system. The battery status, network status, software version, disk space and many more… Simply click “Details” on the upper right corner to see more.
It can also install and uninstall apps. But, it can’t install from the android market. You also have to allow installation of apps from other sources in your phone for this to work. But the removing works without a complain.
If you want to transfer some files from the PC to the phone or the other way round, simply, use the “Files”. It can also manage music, set ring-tones and set alert tones of your phone. Also its possible to add and edit contacts and even edit the clipboard!
AidDroid have a lot of features that I want and I’m starting to like it. But, it’s better if they can add more functionalities. Give more control over the phone! I’m really looking forward for more new features from this little app! So, what do you think?
