All Android lovers were counting their fingers for this moment… A brand new version of Android… A new powerful smart phone by Samsung… Recently, Samsung and Google stated that they are going announce both of these releases in the Unpacked event which was scheduled to go online on the 19th of October… Well, today its October 19! The Unpacked event is now…
Right now the big event is going underway… Sorry people im a bit late today… Also im sorry that I won’t be able to post any screenshots from the live event as we did with the Build because the live telecast doesn’t have enough quality! Right now, at Hong Kong, they are introducing the new features of Android 4.0 in a Nexus Prime.
The new Android 4.0 is what we saw in the early leaked screenshots and videos. It have a brand new sleek interface and they have switched their primary color from green to blue in this release. The OS carries a lot of new features as we saw earlier.
Just as I switched on the live telecast, they were introducing the camera. The new Android camera have a more pleasing look than its previous versions. Not only that, now, the camera is much more faster! In the new Nexus Prime, we saw how the device took the pictures without much delays. After you take the picture, now you can also share your photos right from the camera. If you have enabled instant upload in Google+, all the images will be automatically uploaded to the web!
There’s another big feature coming to the camera. The panorama. Earlier, we had to use separate apps in order to take panoramic photos from our Android devices… Now, its built into Android 4.0. Just hit the capture button and move the camera smoothly.
Not only the camera, many apps like Gmail and Calendar have been redesign. Now the calendar is more user-friendly. Also the gallery is redesigned with a more beautiful tile like design.
Face Unlock is another big feature. If you think more about security of your phone, then you can use Face Unlock which will use face recognition to unlock your device. That means, only you can unlock your device because only you have your face!
Another new feature is the Android Beam. You are playing a game in your device and you need to share it with your friend. Your friend is lazy. He don’t wont to go to the android market and search for the game. There’s a solution… Just tap the two phones together and your friend will be taken directly to the app download page. Not only apps, you can share videos,web pages, maps and many more thing in this way.
That’s not it, there are more great features coming in Android 4.0. To feel the power of the new Ice Cream Sandwich, you’ll have to wait till your phone manufacturer release the updates. Also Samsung is planning to launch the Nexus Prime on November with Docomo. Already, the SDK is available and developers can start their work. Sometimes, you’ll be able to try the Ice Cream Sandwich with custom roms. Stay with us and we’ll let you know as soon as they include Android 4.0 on their Roms!
