Ok… The virus guard that you have all being waiting for is out now. I wrote on a previous post about the Beta of the BitDefender Antivirus 3 but the real deal is out now. It has incorporated many features that we all dreamed of and Zero configuration Anti-virus will no longer be a dream. The interfaces have become cleaner and some crappy features like Firefox plugin/IE plugin have been done away. That’s a good thing.
Well first things first – What’s up with this Wolf- Dragon title of the post. Well Bit-Defender is representing the Wolf-Dragon. Wolf-Dragon is a philosophy based on Romanian mythology. The Wolf Dragon represents Alertness and Security.
Now now I’ll cover up the main features in a gist and let you download the trial to enjoy the main course.
Rescue Mode
When a huge threat is detected it automatically reboots your computer and boot the computer to a trusted environment to be used to restore the computer’s status. What actually happens here is that BitDefender has a working copy of Linux inside that’ll be used to rescue the PC in terms of emergency.
Social Network Protection
Now all your facebook links(wall posts and News feeds) It will also monitor your privacy settings. You should definitely try it if you are facebook holic.
Autopilot
Provides the Zero configuration Anti-virus protection. This will allow you to continue to concentrate without the pesky pop notifications.
Virtualized Browser
This is an environment monitored by BitDefender where you can do all you internet work. You’ll be protected from spyware and other malicious programs.
Scan Dispatcher
Dispatch scans on the system when the resource consumption is low. No more periodic scans or scans on logging into the OS. BitDefender will scan your computer when you go out to take your coffee.
Wow that makes BitDefender very intelligent. But there is a catch to it. Download.com mentions that some programs (like MalwareBytes) won’t work on parallel with BitDefender. That might be a problem. Here is the download links to the BitDefender 2012 products.
You can compare the three version here at their BitDefender website.
